Tennyson 205

Surrounded by buildings on three sides, Tennyson 205 is a five-story apartment building on a quiet street in Polanco, Mexico City, that opens to the city only via its west facade. The challenge was to create a fluid spatial configuration and outdoor access within these hemmed-in urban constraints. Multiple units, programs and circulation are organized in plan around three vertical light wells while the building section is calibrated to allow light to fill the lowest reaches while still allowing privacy. Vegetation, curated fabrics and furniture, and art punctuate the board-form white concrete shell.
